Everyone had a ball in St. Petersburg!

08 Jul 2019

From 24 May - 2 June 2019, a friendship meeting of IPA members from several countries worldwide was held in St. Petersburg and Moscow, Russia. This event coincided with my birthday celebrations.

Having prepared an international IPA Ball for three years to mark this occasion, finally our dreams came true, and a bright parade of IPA members wearing their police uniforms and ball gowns, in addition to professional dancers from the Samara Region, created a fascinating and festive atmosphere at the IPA Ball.

Alongside the ball, I made a presentation of a collectors’ edition of magazines about the history of police forces around the globe with colourful illustrations and photos. All guests expressed their gratitude to the hosts of the event for the gifts and keepsakes received.

I would like to express my profound gratitude to the IPA National Sections of Canada, Austria, the United Kingdom, Belgium, Bulgaria, Peru, San-Marino, Sri Lanka and Estonia. Special thanks are due to the honourable IPA President Pierre-Martin Moulin, as well as to Alexey Gankin, Chair of the IPA External Relations Commission (ERC), Sophia Delaporta, Secretary of the ERC, Boris Serdyuk, Vice President of the Samara IPA Division, and to the IPA Russia National Section.

We look forward to welcoming all our cherished IPA friends on our Russian soil in the future, and we look forward to seeing you!!!

Sincerely yours,

Olga Birkina, Travel Secretary IPA Russia
