IPA Germany presented the section’s Friendship Award 2019 to Michael Maor

On 29 May 2019, IPA Germany’s Vice President Oliver Hoffmann presented Michael Maor with IPA Germany’s Friendship Award 2019 in Tel Aviv. ‘Maor was always a friend to IPA Germany, and was available at any time when we needed his support’, Oliver Hoffmann stated during the ceremony, which was attended by his family, the Vice President of Section Israel, Gal Sharon, members of Section Israel,  as well as by a group of 25 IPA members from Germany who had come to Israel on a study tour together with Jürgen Glaub, the Secretary General of IPA Germany.

Michael Maor supported German IPA members on various levels and issues, such as the IPA Exchange Programme, as well as private trips and study visits to Israel.

The Friendship Award of the German Section is presented by the national board of IPA Germany on an annual basis to individuals for their outstanding contribution in light of the IPA motto ‘Servo per Amikeco’.

Michael Maor sadly passed away on 25 June 2019 at the age of 86 years. Micha was a highly esteemed IPA friend and will be missed.
