IPA Norway - New National President

17 Jun 2019

President section NorwayIPA Section Norway arranged its national meeting from 4-7 April 2019 in the beautiful city of Ålesund, located in region 3, which celebrates its 50th anniversary in 2019. Many delegates, observers and guests attended, and the meeting was opened by the Chief of Police and the local mayor. Following this, the President of IPA Norway, Jan Tore Hagnes, wished all participants a warm welcome.

In Section Norway, the national meeting (NEC) is held every third year, and all the positions on the national board are up for election at this point. There were several candidates for some of the positions, and we think that this is good. The 10 members of the new national board were well-distributed as far as gender, geography and age are concerned.

The new board agrees to work closely together and has a clear media strategy both internally and externally. Furthermore, it shall focus on recruiting and retaining younger members and further developing IPA as an organisation in step with the rest of the police and society. IPA Norway will also be a visible and active contributor to developing a sustainable IPA internationally.

We are looking forward to good and close cooperation with the International Executive Board, the International Administration Centre and all IPA sections.

Jan Tore Hagnes, President IPA Norway
